Lowe's Companies Ltd. has joined the growing list of U.S. retailers looking North to the strong Canadian economy. Lowe's plans to open its first B.C. store in New Westminster, B.C. This comes after recent announcements by Lowe's of the closure of 20 U.S. stores and the lay off of 1,950 U.S. employees. As the U.S. economy continues to falter more and more U.S. retailers are looking at the strong Canadian economy and purshasing power of the Canadian consumer.
